Common in proper habitat
Hepatic Tanagers are rarely seen outside of a Ponderosa Pine habitat. They glean for insects, frequently in trees, but will sometimes go down onto the ground in search of insects. Where there are homes in the forest with feeders it is not uncommon for tanagers to frequent suet and jelly feeders.
